Java is a Horrible LanguageLove him or hate him Linus Torvalds is the creator of one of the world's most popular and widely supported operating systems of all time - and he's pretty outspoken when it comes to stupidity (real or perceived). Here we have Linus expressing "discontent" with Java - the over commercialized, hacky slop job programing language that aims to be great at nothing and simply "supported" on as many operating systems as possible - however abysmal the implementation.
...and then there are the politics (surrounding a programing language?!): remember when Sun was congratulating themselves on Google using their product (Java), and then the company was sold to Oracle which then in turn sued Google for using the product? Yea, it's like that. If you need a bastardized excellent-at-nothing framework which is heavy, buggy and burred in patents - then Java is your solution!
I wrote it in C because C
was the best language for the job. It's also nice that C discourages
idiots from trying to contribute." -Linus Torvalds
