Dial-up Sounds Explained

Call me crazy, but I remember quite fondly the sound of the dial-up modem. I would spend hours on FreeWWWeb, AOL, Prodogy, Earth-link and a host of other trial-by-ad services. I’m sorry folks, those really were the good ol' days - the days when we appreciated every byte we were able to acquire and proved how proud we were of our download by storing them on disks which were worth their weight in gold.

Just in case the above video is ever decommissioned, here is a graphic which explains what it used to show.

Is this code snippet, product or advice warrantied against ill-effect and/or technical malaise? No. No it's not! Not expressed - Not implied - not at all.
